Yeah, unfortunately due to the narrative structure of the plot, this route could have used an ACT 5 to serve as a denoument. Many of the routes in Katawa Shojou are the same, they end pretty much as the relationship gets established. I think only Emi's and Shizune's treat the relationship as not the end of the route and out of those 2, only Emi's ties up the loose ends fully. Basically plot structure goes like this: ACT 1 - Introduce Characters, set story in motion (Common Route in KS) ACT 2 - Introduce first plot point, set theme (Pick a girl in KS) ACT 3 - Pursuit of Plot point, problems and conflicts, major reversal (Pursing Hanako, her Panic attack, Birthday Party, Lilly Leaving and withdrawl) ACT 4 - Introduce second plot point, overcome obstacles, victory (Hisao's own issues with relationships, getting closer to hanako, confession in the park and smoochies) ACT 5 - Denoument and tying up loose ends (This didn't happen) If anyone wants to write a VN in the future, particularly a nakige like Katawa Shojou, then this is the plot structure :DΒ
