What I wouldn't give for this to be the longest storyline instead of the shortest. By far the most rewarding and touching. While I felt a bit frustrated at Hisao's inability to say the right things at the right time, I have to remember I have experience with traumatized people and I try to put myself in his shoes. He's a lot younger than me, after all. In a way he fits Hanako better because he is, himself, fumbling as well.
I see a lot of people dissatisfied with the ending, but I loved it. These are two people with a lot of inner defences built up. To be able to do what they did is completely life-changing for them both, and because of that they're only going to grow both closer and stronger. It's a great match and a realistic ending that I really like. Just wish the entire storyline was longer and Hisao would take more chances to say the things I wanted him to say x)
But really, wanting more just means this is the best storyline by far.
