Yup. Exactly what happened to me. Halfway through Act 3 (with Lilly) I realized that the major lesson learned at the end of Hanako's fourth act was already being dished out to us by Lilly (not to mention Hisao actually follows her advice). It drove me insane to see Hanako far better off just doing stuff on her own.
Although maybe that's the impression the developpers wanted me to have... interesting.
