My problem with the route wasn't the actual plot. That was good. My issue is the lack of choices within it. There was only one decision point past Act 1, and it was the difference between the good and bad ending. All the other routes had plenty of other choices, even arbitrary ones that had no bearing on the ending. It almost seems to me like Shizune's (non-beta) route was the last one written given the lack of variety.
