Without direct confirmation from any of the staff involved in creating KS, we'll likely never know.

I like to believe that, they never really had the intention of doing another. This was a project of pure passion and heart. They were there, the right place, the right time, with the right frame of mind, and the will and ability to do so. This was the pertfect storm for them, and they managed to create something rather spectacular, not only to prove that they could, but because they wanted to. So, they did, and it was everything they wanted it to be, and it was perfect, and there was no need for another game.

But, we have some hard truths to face. Time waits for no one, and neither does change. The average age of 4chan posters is between 16 and 30, and from what their twitter feed in 2012 tells us, it took them 5 years to go from concept to finished product, and lot of things can change in 5 years. Especially when you're in high school and college (kind of poetic considering the game's themes of change and progression of time.), The simplest answer might be that, they just aren't able to come together again to do a new game. Perhaps, they have different lives now that prevent them form having the time to work, maybe they aren't the same people at heart, anymore. I know I'm not the same person today I was when I found 4chan.

There is a tidbit on the Wikipedia page, a comment from 2013 that hints as possible future projects, but so far, the only projects that seem to be presented on the Twitter feed are artbooks and the likes. So, it looks like, for now, we only get the one game.

Some times, we only get one chance. I'm glad that they didn't waste their chance to do something like Katawa Shojou.

If any of the developers are reading this, thanks for sharing this game with us.
