Personality At a young age, Hanako had a traumatic experience that left her life in shambles. Her parents died when their home burned down in an accident, which also disfigured Hanako herself permanently and leaving her in an orphanage. She is reclusive to the extreme, shunning from all other people to the point of actually panicking from any social contact. Her only trusted friend is Lilly, who has taken Hanako under her wing ever since the two were introduced to each other.

Her hobbies include chess, reading, and (surprisingly) karaoke.

Life Support

Hisao first encounters Hanako on his second day at Yamaku in the library. Hanako predictably panicks and takes off. The following day, Hisao joins her and Lily for lunch and as the first week passes Hanako becomes more comfortable around Hisao. The two work together to help Class 3-2 prepare their stall for the festival. On the day of the festival itself Hisao accompanies Hanako in the library and later the tea room where they play a game of chess. Later at Lilys suggestion the trio spen the rest of the day at the Shanghai and watch the fireworks from the teahouse. That night Hisao also agrees to help Hanako with her shopping on Monday after school
